Installing the Network Server on a Virtual Machine (VM) is the same procedure described in [Network Server Installation](https://help-innovyze.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/xps/pages/19662662/Network+Installation#NetworkInstallation-NetworkServerInstallation), with the following additional requirements:

- You need a hardware that can connect the USB dongle to the VM. For example, [Anywhere USB](https://www.digi.com/products/networking/usb-connectivity/usb-over-ip/anywhereusb).
- The XPDiagnostic tool cannot recognize the USB dongle if you use MS Remote Desktop tool. Please use other method to access the VM if you need to use the tool.
