Baseline Replacement Cost calculation provides a rough budgetary estimate for pipe replacement based on life expectancy of pipe based on material, rehab cost, and year installed.

To execute a Baseline Replacement Cost calculation, click on the **Tools** drop-down menu and select **Baseline Replacement > Calculate Baseline Replacement Cost...** in the **Analysis** tab of the **Operation Center.**

Note that if the calculation has already been performed, the Baseline Replacement Cost reports can be viewed by clicking on** Tools>Baseline Replacement > Baseline Replacement Cost Report...**

When** Calculate Baseline Replacement Cost... **is selected, the following dialog box will be displayed:

**Scope -** Choose the Full Network or a previously saved Facility Selection on which to include in the Baseline Replacement Cost Calculation.

**Deterioration Model -** To include a Deterioration Model which can enhance the accuracy of the Baseline Replacement Cost Calculation, tick the **Use Deterioration Model** box and select a previously run Deterioration Model from the drop-down list. Then, specify the desired method of residual life calculation in the Target Field from the selected Deterioration Model to use in this calculation.  See the [Deterioration Models](https://help-innovyze.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/infoassetplanner/pages/15794458) section of the Help for more information.

**Year Setting -** Enter a time range in the **From Year** and **To Year** fields for which the analysis will be performed and an **Interest Rate** to adjust for inflation.

Click the **Material Life Span Setting...** button to enter the life expectancy for each of the pipe materials used in the project.

After clicking the **Calculate** button several graphs and reports are generated:

**Nessie Curve** - Line plot displaying the Baseline Replacement Cost per year both with and without inflation. 

**Cost By Material Graph** - Bar graph displays the Baseline Replacement Cost per year for each pipe material. View the costs with inflation by ticking the **Show Baseline Replacement Cost (With Inflation)** option at the top left.

**Cost By Diameter Graph** - If the Cost/(Diameter*Length) option was used in the calculation, this bar graph will display the Baseline Replacement Cost per year for each pipe diameter. View the costs with inflation by ticking the **Show Baseline Replacement Cost (With Inflation)** option at the top left.

**Summary Report** - A tabular report that shows the Baseline Replacement Cost per year with and without Inflation.

**Detail Report** -  A tabular report that includes each pipe utilized in the analysis, its diameter, material, install year, replacement material, projected replacement year, and replacement costs with and without inflation.

**Cost By Material Report** - A tabular report displaying the Baseline Replacement Costs (with and without inflation) per year by material.

**Cost By Diameter Report** - A tabular report displaying the Baseline Replacement Costs (with and without inflation) per year by pipe diameter.
