The Event Trace module of the Protector allows you to determine which pipes in the system need to be closed in order to isolate a particular node element from the rest of the water distribution system. Such a node element can consist of a tank, a well, or a water treatment facility.
The Isolation tab also allows you to identify which pipes contain shut-off valves and which do not. Thus, the solution that is generated by an Isolation simulation allows you to accurately identify pipes that can and should be closed in order to isolate a node element from the rest of the water system.
The node location which is to be isolated from the system. Once the node is selected, specify a color to display this node in the Color on Map section.
Include Active Valves - Click on this checkbox to include active valves as closable devices.
Include Active Pumps - Click on this checkbox to include active pumps as closable devices.
All pipes in the domain that are capable of being closed will be be evaluated during the Isolation simulation. You can group these pipes in the form of a domain. Use the Edit Domain button to open the Domain Manager.
Select all pipes in the system that are capable of being closed that will be be evaluated during the Isolation simulation. You can group these pipes in the form of a graphical selection. Use the Selectionbutton to select the pipes in the map view.
