Now that the stormwater management system results have been reviewed and a correctly sized system has been completed, it’s time to submit the information in the InfoDrainage model to the rest of the project team and to the review team at the approving municipality. The Export Ribbon provides an array options for moving the design into CAD, GIS, Text (Including .csv and Excel) or Reporting documents. Continue working on your model or open ID_US_Introduction_Project_Ch4.iddx.
Export to CAD - Plan
The entire Plan View and important dimension information can be exported directly to a DWG file by selecting the To CAD option under the Export ribbon. This output is what would equip a Site Design team member to complete the final Grading and Site Plan updates based on the Stormwater Plan that has been configured with InfoDrainage.
Export Pipe Network via LandXML
The pipe network which has been configured and sized in InfoDrainage can be exported (including all the conduit details) to the native CAD LandXML format for direct use in a CAD program. Under the Export ribbon, select Pipe Networks, select a name and location, then select the version of LandXML you wish to output to. Note – version 1.2 is the latest version of LandXML file that is widely used in CAD tools, so using the default is typical.
Export to CAD/Plotter - Plot Profile
Beyond the overall Plan view and 3D Pipe Network being exported for use in CAD, exporting Profile Views to either CAD or simply printing out on an Engineering Plotter are often project necessities. If results are not present, run the analysis by clicking Go in the Analysis ribbon. Select the Plot Profile option on the Export ribbon, then click the calculator button to update the Vertical and Horizontal Scale. Select the Show HGL check option to include the HGL line in the export and select Update Preview. Design criteria such as Minimum Invert Levels (Show Min. IL Line) and Minimum Cover Depths (Show Min. Cover Depth Line) can also be included if desired.
To Print this Profile Plot select the Print Data icon.
To export the Profile to CAD, select Show Profile under the Results ribbon, then select the Export to CAD option.
Export to GIS – Phase
Many municipalities or larger infrastructure teams may also want to have the final stormwater system exported out to GIS in order to integrate the new proposed design into a larger database. Under the To GIS section of the Export ribbon individual components of a stormwater system can be exported or all aspects of the model can be exported at one time using the Phase option. Select the Phase option and specify a file name for the export.
Select Next to continue with the GIS Export Wizard. By default, when the Phase export option is selected all model elements are selected for export, click Next to proceed.
First is the Inflows GIS Export - check the main SCS parameters box to include all Inflow properties and select Next.
Next is the Stormwater Control export - if the analyses have been recently run, results can be exported in addition to facility dimension data. Scroll down the available property list and Select the main Results check box to include all Summary Results in the export. Select Next to proceed.
The default list of Junction properties is often sufficient for export, select Next without any modification to the export attributes list.
Add the Incoming Items attribute fields to the Export list for Inlets then select Next.
The penultimate export category is Outlets - select the main Orifice check box to include all the Outlet details in the export, then select Next.
Connections is the final export category - the default list of attributes is typically sufficient for data transfer, select Export to complete the GIS Export Wizard. A summary showing all exported files, types and number of objects, and file locations is shown. Select OK to close the Export Summary.
Print Master system summary
One submittal requirement may be a master print-out of all the input details for the stormwater elements in the model as well as the results. Under File > Print, select any combination of input or result variables and select Update Preview to see the summary based on the selection. This summary can be saved as a PDF by selecting the Save button and selecting a destination folder and name.
Take Off Data
Volumetric and dimensional reporting for the stormwater system can be reviewed by using the Take Off Data option, found on the Results ribbon. This can be exported and used for further costing and estimating calculation purposes outside the software.
Summary information is listed for all Junctions, Stormwater Controls and Connections in the model, with detailed reporting of each of these object types on the subsequent tabs.
Tables
Both input values and Results can be shown at the same time using Tables. Double-click the Tables layer in the Tree View or select Tables under the Results ribbon.
With the Inflow table selected, check the two Result values of Max Inflow and Total Inflow Volume to add these to the table view. This is a easy way to review a mix of input and result data in one place. Close TABLES when you are done reviewing the various tabular view options. This can be exported by right-clicking the table and selecting the desired output file type.
