With the release of InfoAsset Planner, rehab decision trees and the Rehab Method/Cost/Action interface and options were opened up to all facilities and vertical assets. You can even add custom facility types and conduct cost and rehab decision tree analysis on these new facility types.

There are three general classes of other custom facility types and vertical assets:

  1. Point facility types: Point facility types include fittings, clean outs, discharge points, manholes (in the Water network), and any custom facility type derived from a point feature class.  For these facility types, Rehab Methods do not have any advanced properties and their is only one unit option for costing: Each.  There are no length, area, or other geometry options to include any type of variable cost analysis.  Other than the limited unit options and the removal of Rehab Method properties; however, the Rehab Actions and Costs interface looks similar to other facilities.

  2. Vertical Assets: Vertical Assets are even simpler than point facility types.  They have no geometry because their attribute information is only stored in tables.  Therefore, costing for vertical assets is again constricted to a single unit option of Each.  Vertical Assets in the Rehab Actions and Costs interface look identical to point facility types.

  3. Line facility types: Line facility types include pressurized mains (in Sewer network), gravity mains (in Water network), and any custom facility type derived from a line feature class.  For these facility types, Rehab Methods do not have any advanced properties and there are only two unit options for costing: Each and Length (ft/m).

  4. Polygon facility types: Polygon facility types are never pre-loaded by default, but can be added by users as custom facility types through the use of polygon feature classes.  For these facility types, Rehab Methods do not have any advanced properties and there are only two unit options for costing: Each and Length (ft/m).
