In the Sewer network, manhole and lateral facility types have unique Rehab Method costing properties because of the related ability to import survey data.

The costing differences described below only occur in the Sewer network.  In the Water network, potential manhole or lateral facility types will be costed in the same way as any other point or line feature.  For more information on general point, line, and polygon feature costing, see Rehab Actions and Costs - Other Facilities and Vertical Assets.

Manhole - Rehab Actions and Costs

The Manhole Rehab Actions and Cost tab is very similar to the Pipe Rehab Actions and Cost window.  Rehab Methods have associated costs assigned to them and can be aggregated into Rehab Actions.  Because survey import data is available, Rehab Method Properties can be specified in terms of Full Manhole, Buffer Width, Merge Width, etc.  For more information, see Rehab Actions and Costs.

  • Description – No character restrictions for any description.

  • Full Manhole  Determines whether the rehab method is applied to the full manhole length/depth or solely the localized defect(s).

  • Rehab. Buffer Width – Allows you to specify a buffer for Rehab Methods.  For example, if a point repair is specified for a 5ft defect, should the repair only be applied to the 5ft or should a 2ft buffer be added to each side bringing the total repair length to 9ft?

  • Rehab. Merge Width – Determines whether certain rehab methods should be merged into one Rehab Method or remain two separate methods.  For example, if two 5ft point repairs are 3ft apart, and the Rehab Merge Width is 3ft or more, they will be merged into a single point repair of 13 ft.

  • Allow Merge – Controls whether the merging of Rehab Methods should be allowed to follow Rehab Buffer Width and Rehab Merge Width rules.

  • Final Rehab. Color - Specifies the color of the rehab method within the Condition Assessment Window.

Lateral Line - Rehab Actions and Costs

Lateral Lines in the Sewer network have the exact same Rehab Method property options as the Gravity Main facility type.  Full Pipe, Connection Cost, Buffer Width, Merge Width, and Allow Merge are all available options due to the potential presence of survey import data. For more information, see Rehab Actions and Costs.

  • Description – No character restrictions for any description.

  • Full Pipe  Determines whether the rehab method is applied to the full pipe length/depth or solely the localized defect(s).

  • Connection Cost  Determines whether the LATERAL REINSTATEMENT cost should be applied.
