Importing Work Orders via the Work Manager tool.


  1. Click on the Import   button in the Work Order tab. 

  2. Click Next in the Import Work Order dialog box with the radio next to Tables specified in next step selected.


    *If the records are stored in a database that has been formatted for direct importing select the 'Database' radio button.


  3. Click on a system table that the records will be imported to. The tables populated will vary depending on what custom tables are mapped in the Work Order Type Manager. At minimum, records should be imported to the IMIC_WOWorkOrder & IMIC_WOAsset tables (required fields are highlighted in red).  The IMIC_WOWorkOrder table details all the individual work order information, while the IMIC_WOAsset table is used only to link work orders to facilities or assets.  By importing to two tables, InfoAsset Planner can relate a single work order to multiple facilities and/or assets.



    Note that some fields have asterisks indicating the presence of a domain within the InfoAsset Planner database.  In addition some fields, while not required are important.  These include:

    Type - Specifies the different categories of work orders.  These are defined in the Type Manager.

    ID and Work Order ID field - These fields must match to tie the unique work order ID to the specific facility.

    Other Tables (IMIC_WOTask, IMIC_WOTKEmployee, etc.) - You can import to these tables in this interface as well.  These items may be associated to different work orders to add more detail. 


  4. Click on the Browse  button next to the Select a table or feature class: section found under the Import Source and browse to the layer containing the data. 



  5. In the Import Filter section, enter a query statement to specify the work orders that will be imported. The Query Builder  button will aid in building these queries.

  7. Map the system fields.



  8. Click on the Import  button.
