Below is the step-by-step process for importing service requests into the Service Request tab.

  1. Click on the Import  button in the Service Request tab.

  2. Click Next in the Import Service Request dialog box with the radio next to 'Tables specified in next step' selected.

*If the records are stored in a database that has been formatted for direct importing select the 'Database' radio.

  3. Click on a system table that the records will be imported to. The tables populated will vary depending on what custom tables are mapped in the Service Request Type Manager. At minimum, records should be imported to the IMIC_SVServiceRequest table:

Note that some fields have asterisks indicating the presence of a domain within the InfoAsset Planner database.  In addition some fields, while not required are important.  These include:

Type - Specifies the different categories of service requests.  These are defined in the Type Manager.

Facility Type - Ties the service request to a particular facility type.  Each facility type in the InfoAsset Planner project has an associated number (Manhole = 1, Gravity Main = 8, etc.) so InfoAsset Planner will be expecting a number to be imported to this field.

Facility ID - Ties the service request to a particular facility.  This can be done after importing the service request if not populated via import.

  4. Click on the Browse  button next to the 'Select a GIS layer or table' section found under the Import Source and browse to the layer containing the data.

  5. In the Import Filter section, enter a query statement to specify the service requests that will be imported. The Query Builder button ()  will aid in building these queries.

  6. Specify the import options:

  7. Map the system fields.

  8. Click Import ().
