Workspace Templates

Workspace templates are used to apply a common generic visual layout to a variety of data sources. For example, if you like to see a set of charts and dashlets for each storage tank in your system at a time, you can set up one, create a template, then apply it to any tank.

Process to create and apply Templates
  1. Customize a Workspace to present data for a certain type of sensor
  2. Save the Workspace as a template
  3. Go to the Workspace Templates section and open your template
  4. Select the Data Source and desired Time Range
  5. Review your Workspace and re-open with alternate data sources.

Work in progress!

As of version 6.3, the Time Range setting here does not yet affect the resulting Workspace.

How does SCADAWatch handle the following object types in a template?

Object Type

Apply a single sensor Data Source

Apply a Sensor Group/Type Data Source

Historic Chart and Gauge Chart

The primary sensor data source is replaced by the selected source for the template. For historic charts, all other reference charts and formatting remain unchanged.

Charts are removed from the Workspace since they are not applicable to sensor groups.

Status Chart and Sensor Group Watcher

This objects are removed from the Workspace since they are not applicable to single sensor sources.

The object will be modified to display data for the selected sensor group.

Dashlet, Mass Balance, Biz Block, Pattern, Pump Efficiency, etc.

Workspace Setting

Enables the user to modify the data source and time range throughout the Workspace.

For example, a user might set up dashlets in a workspace to show the previous seven days of data, but occasionally the user might rather see a similar time period several weeks ago. This tool could be used to modify the time range for all dashlets uniformly across the workspace.

Workspace Viewer

Views that Info360 Report, which you can then print.

Share Workspace

Clicking the Share Workspace icon will open the Share dialog where the link and embed URL is available and can be shared to anyone with login access.

If you have created a contact list in Scheduler, you can select from the available contact list from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can type one or more email address, separating multiple addresses with a comma or semicolon. Info360 will send an email of the exported PDF to all the email address specified.

You can set up a schedule to automatically export the workspace using the Workspace Archive Scheduler in the Miscellaneous tab of Administration, and the exported PDF will be sent to all contacts specified.

Notification List

Displays all current notifications. Click Clear all notifications to wipe the list clean.

You can customize which types of notifications will pop up and appear in the list from the Settings Panel discussed below.

Settings Panel

Click this icon to open up the settings panel which controls settings to adjust the view of the workspace and turn on/off notifications.

 Settings Panel Options

View Only toggle

Setting the Workspace to View Only mode will remove icons and tools that allow editing of dashlets and charts. This feature is useful for sharing and taking images of the Workspace, however the Workspace Viewer () may be a better tool in most cases.

Turn on/off notifications of several types:

  • Sensor Data - These alerts will occur every time new sensor data has been sampled from source data connections. By default, this should be turned off, especially when using the Agent.
  • Alert - All Alerts triggered from an enabled Track will create a notification in the interface when turned on.
  • Mass Balance - When on, a notification will indicate when calculations have completed and results are ready for review.
  • Biz Block - When on, a notification will indicate when calculations have completed and results are ready for review.

Each login user can control their own layout using these three options:

  • Collapse Menu - Collapses the left Workspace panel. This is the same as clicking the   tool.
  • Boxed Layout - This will fix the maximum width of the workspace so that resizing the window doesn't result in rescaling all displays.
  • Fixed Footer - This will attach the bottom footer bar along the bottom of the window regardless of scrolling.

Alternate color themes can be selected for each user of Info360. This setting will only affect the background appearance of Info360.

Bottom Tile Workspace

The bottom tile area is the display area unique to each workspace. Charts, gages, tables, etc. can be added in any customized layout.

New objects can be added to the Workspace from the Command Center.

While in Edit Mode, objects can be moved, resized, and edited:

Move Object

Click and drag from the top bar of the object

Resize Object

Click and drag from the bottom right corner of the object

Full Screen

Click to view object in full screen mode

Remove object from workspace

Any changes you make while in Edit mode will not carry over to other sessions unless the changes are saved .
