Typical value calculates the average value between the high and low of the current sample period. On a Daily interval for example, this yields the average of the max and min values reported by the sensor that day.



Input Data*

Defines the time series data fed into the function. This can be a sensor ID or another function.

*Input data is optional in most cases. If Info360 detects that the first input is time series data, it will be applied to the function. Otherwise, the current active sensor's data will be used, which is often the case in Reference Charts.

Example Usage as an Expression:

Change(TypicalValue(), 7): For daily data, this finds the difference between the current day's typical value (average of high and low of the day) with the typical value from a week ago.

Example Reference Chart:

The following example shows a daily flowrate reading with the High, Low, Average, and TypicalValue. Note that the Average is the mean of all data points measured through the day, while the TypicalValue is the midpoint between the High and Low.
