xpdrainage 2016 Help Documentation XDH2016v1

The Profile form allows a given Flow Path to be viewed in profile, and shows the relative lengths and levels of the various Connections, Stormwater Controls, Simple Junctions and Manholes as well as the connections between them. As with the rest of xpdrainage the form is live and will update as the dimensions of elements shown are adjusted in the Site.

Viewing a Profile
To view the profile for a given Flow Path, either double-click on the Path in the Tree View, or right-click and choose 'View Profile'.

Accessing Data Forms

The property form of each element in the profile can be accessed by right-clicking on an element (including the connections) and choosing 'Edit Data' or by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button. Choosing a connection will produce the Connections window (which contains all connections); the selected connection will be highlighted. Selecting an outlet will produce the outlet’s parent (i.e. SWC / Manhole) properties form with its Outlets tab selected and the appropriate row in the outlets tab spreadsheet highlighted.

Graphical adjustment of Outlets
It is possible to adjust the Invert level of an Outlet on the Profile form itself (this does not apply to the Free Discharge outlet type which does not have its own invert level). To do this, right-click on the form and select the 'Graphical Edit' option. Then click with the left mouse button and drag the Outlet up and down to adjust its  Invert Level..

When there are analysis results the maximum water level will be shown in each Stormwater Control as a horizontal line (whose colour is ‘Max Water’ in the Display Settings dialog box) to show how well the storage is being utilised for the current event. In the case of the more complex stormwater controls such as Bioretention and Swale (with Trench), the water level in each subsystem is calculated by the analysis, and will be drawn individually on the stormwater control.

Video controls appear on the form when results have been generated which allow the user to view their water level animation. If more than one profile form is open, the water level animation will be synchronised between them. The same video controls also appear on the Status Bar of the Main program window.

Storm Selection

The Storm Selection combo box on the profile form (on the right of the Video controls) allows the user to select the storm whose results they wish to see animated in the profile form. Note that the storm selector is also available on the Status Bar - these storm selectors are synchronized with each other.

Workflow - What's next...?

Connect Inflows to your Stormwater Control, specify Inlets or Outlets or connect to another Stormwater Control or Junction.
